Complex Needs Conference 2025

April 9, 2025

A big shoutout to our team, Melinda Wagner, Edgar Daly, and Vanessa Hulands for their fantastic presentations on the Better Health and Housing Program at the Complex Needs Conference 2025 last month.

Melinda Wagner from our Health and Wellbeing team shared valuable insights and key lessons learnt from our experience delivering the program, including the importance of a strong partnership and integrated health and housing services delivering wrap around support.

Edgar Daly from our Research, Evaluation & Data team presented findings from the program evaluation, highlighting the significant cost savings to government achieved by breaking cycles of chronic homelessness and poor health.

Vanessa Hulands from our Women’s Services Team spoke alongside First Step’s Mental Health Manager, Kym Coupe about The Road Home Project. A collaborative partnership between First Step and Launch Housing, centering on a strong and engaged multidisciplinary team delivering mental health, medical, legal, and housing services to people in crisis accommodation.

Their sessions were co-presented alongside our partners in service delivery and evaluation, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.

A huge congratulations to all for contributing to important conversations about improving support for those facing complex needs.
