Your Impact
Launch Housing’s mission is to end homelessness.
Through philanthropy, you can be a key part of the solution to making Melbourne a world-leading city in ending homelessness.
We have an urgent problem, and a proven solution, and we are continuing to generate research and knowledge and build alliances that will stand with us and refuse to tolerate homelessness as an inevitability of city life. The time is now.
Investing in Impact
Philanthropy provides the support, the interventions, the voice and power for us to drive our strategy to end homelessness.
Your support helps rapidly respond to people’s housing and support needs, demonstrate evidence-based solutions to end homelessness, and fearlessly advocate for more and better housing and support services.
In the last financial year, generous philanthropic donors like you helped support over 2,400 people.
“The work we are able to do through the support of philanthropy is some of our finest. Not only is it materially significant for the lives of the people we assist – philanthropy enables us to pursue the work we know will move us closer to ending homelessness and shift the systems we know perpetuate inequality.” Bevan Warner, Chief Executive of Launch Housing
In July 2023, Launch Housing opened Viv’s Place for women and children escaping homelessness and family violence to find safety and stability in a brand new, long-term home.
Philanthropic support made Viv’s Place possible, with many passionate and generous foundations, individuals and families supporting the project to get it off the ground.
Generous families like Robin and Mary Lou’s gave the profits from their family home to help make the dream of Viv’s Place a reality.
Philanthropy is delivering a suite of innovative pilot programs targeting at-risk women and children: the Families & New Beginnings impact area.
This impact area fills crucial gaps in the support available to highly vulnerable women and children experiencing homelessness.
From providing housing to pregnant women experiencing homelessness and domestic violence, to ensuring their children have the opportunity to attend school, these programs help to break inter-generational cycles of homelessness.
Launch Housing and philanthropy are leading a new approach in Melbourne to solving chronic rough sleeping.
Our Zero projects bring local services together, working in a coordinated and hyper-local way to get to know exactly who is sleeping rough and what they need to access and sustain housing.
By collaborating with hospitals, other homelessness services, mental and primary health agencies, and housing providers, our Zero projects are finding solutions to end rough sleeping, person by person, until everyone is housed.
Homelessness is one of the most dangerous health conditions, lowering life expectancy by up to 30 years.
Health and homelessness are intrinsically linked. Ill health leads people into homelessness, keeps people homeless, and makes it almost impossible to retain housing.
Through two nursing clinics made possible by philanthropy, nurses rapidly respond to the life-threatening illnesses and injuries of over 250 people each year. The nursing clinics bring the homelessness and healthcare sectors closer together to fill crucial gaps in services available to people sleeping rough and people who have experienced chronic homelessness.
“We feel very aligned to Launch Housing's goals. Homelessness should not exist. Making homelessness a rare, brief and one-time occurrence is an achievable objective. Supporting people and processes that can make it happen is not an accomplishment. We love doing it.” Jon Stretch, Director of Blueshore Charitable Trust and donor to Zero project
