Help end rough sleeping in Melbourne by 2030

Despite Melbourne's reputation as one of the world's most progressive and liveable cities, tonight thousands of us don’t have a home. Many of us sleep in cars, on couches, and in crowded and unsafe rooms. Some of us have no option but to sleep on the street.

Melbourne Zero is a movement set to change that: to mobilise Melbourne to be the first Australian city to end rough sleeping by 2030.

We know the solution: more affordable homes for people, and the right supports to ensure they can access and stay housed. Our movement advocates for the foundational step in the work to end homelessness: knowing people by name.

By-Name Lists help councils and service providers across Melbourne ensure that the right services are delivered to the people who need them most.  By knowing people by name, we end the dehumanisation of people rough sleeping across our city.

Together, we can make Melbourne a liveable city for all.

Support our friends

We also encourage you to support these fantastic campaigns from our friends:

  • Everybody's Home - a national campaign to fix the housing crisis, building momentum and public support for the government to fund social housing
  • HomeTime a national campaign to unlock Australia’s housing system for almost 40,000 children and young people with nowhere to live
  • Raise the Rate - a national campaign to increase JobSeeker and other income support payments to at least $80 a day so everyone can keep a roof over their head and food on the table.

If you’ve not already, get involved today!

Launch Housing is a place where people of diverse backgrounds, genders and sexual orientations are welcomed and supported.
